Call Process for Faith Formation Associate Pastor
Did you get the "letter"? What letter you say?
The letter from Karl Wright, Council President, outlining the Council recommendation to establish a "Call" relationship with Sara Gross Samuelson..
If you can't find the letter here's a snapshot...
Do we need and can we afford a third pastor? That’s the first thing I asked myself. Then I realized that both Pastor Tim and Pastor Donna are (compensated as being) 2/3 time positions. Never mind that they both work as if they were full time, that’s how they are paid. If we were to call Sara at 2/3 time too, her expenses would be little more than what we have budgeted for a lay person in that position. There would be little, if any, strain on our budget.
Do we really need a youth pastor? We have no intention of calling a youth pastor. Faith formation is more than a youth leader. Faith formation and, indeed, faith maintenance and faith growth is interwoven into everything we do. We need a person in that position and Council believes she is the right one
We all have the wonderful opportunity to attend a
Town Hall meeting on Sunday, January 24th
immediately following the 10:45 service.
Bring your questions, your enthusiasm, your spirit to the meeting.
In the meantime, your church Council members and
faith formation team would be happy to answer questions.
