Holy Week Promises

Subscribe to West Linn Lutheran YouTube Channel Here
Holy Week themes follow from our Lent theme of Covenant Connections. This week we focus on the promises that God makes in and through the story of Jesus. The promises come alive as we engage the story in our lives today.
REFLECTIONS FROM JOHN'S STORY OF HOLY WEEK
Monday-Wednesday, March 29, 30, 31
Access after 10 am those days.

Pastor Tim will be reading his daily meditations taken from the Gospel of John. What did Jesus do after he entered Jerusalem and before the Last Supper? Watch on the West Linn Lutheran Channel YouTube channel.
Each meditation with close with Martin Luther's morning prayer:
We give thanks to you, Heavenly father, through Jesus Christ your dear Son, that you have protected us through the night from all danger and harm; and we ask you to preserve and keep us, this day also, from all sin and evil; that in all our thoughts, words, and deeds, we may serve and praise you. Into your hands we commend our bodies and souls, and all that is ours. Let your holy angel have charge concerning us, that the wicked one has no power over us. Amen.

Holy Communion, and the chanting of Psalm 22 will conclude the service.

Livestream on West Linn Lutheran Church YouTube channel

The youth of the congregation will lead this service with Youth Director Jon Francis. On the cross, Jesus promises to trust God even when it looks like death has won. We promise to trust God in all the deaths of our lilves.
HOLY SATURDAY
Saturday, April 3rd - livestream at Noon
"Promise to Listen"
Livestream on West Linn Lutheran Church YouTube Channel

The Godly Play storytellers and pastors invite all children (Kindergarten-Grade 5) to a Zoom gathering!
We will share a story about crosses; ask the children to show-and-tell about a cross in their home; and eat our lunch "feast" together! This gathering will help the children bridge the story of Jesus on the cross with his Easter morning resurrection! For more information contact Pastor Donna.

WALK THE WAY OF THE CROSS
- in the WLLC church yard!

For Holy Week, you are invited to journey with Jesus around our chiurch grounds.
We can read the story of Good Friday—the Way of the Cross, or the Stations of the Cross—in the Bible; we can also "read" it through the lens of our own imaginations and the natural world. All you need is a printed guide (which you can download here or pick up at the upper level front door), and a spirit of curiosity.

You can walk individually, or together as a family. (Please remember to wear your mask if you are walking near folks from outside your family group.)

We would love for you to come to the church grounds, but you could also walk in your own neighborhood.
This activity was designed by the Rev. Mia Kano, and shared by Building Faith, a ministry of Virginia Theological Seminary.
