This Group Began last September!
Each Fall, the Men of West Linn Lutheran Church (WLLC) meet together to study a topic during the halftime of Monday Night Football Games. All men are invited to come and watch some football, enjoy good fellowship and learn about the bible or a topic of mutual interest. Check out our upcoming schedule and root on your favorite team! Typically we share something like pizza, a side dish and some beverages. Please email docjwyoung@gmail.com for more information and exact address for each meeting spot and let us know what you can bring! This year given the nature of the political narrative, the men decided to establish 10 Morals and then study them one at a time in order to develop a mutually agreed upon principle. It has been an exciting discussion and sometimes, football (and the 2nd half) is delayed as the depth of fellowship and discussion happens. See the current renditions of the moral statements below!
Here is what you need to know:
In general, you can show up as early as 5:30. We will do the discussion at about 6:30, around halftime... and perhaps 3rd quarter....maybe even 4th quarter depending on what's more interesting... the game or our discussion!
Here is the current schedule for your reference....
1/7/2019 - At Gary Eppelsheimer's home (College National Championship Game) to discuss "Integrity" led by
Bill Veith.
1/21/2019 - At Pastor Tim's home (No FOOTBALL!) to discuss the Golden Rule as led by Pastor Tim

10 Moral Principles:
TRUSTWORTHY AND RELIABILITY: We strive to be trustworthy and reliable people. In order to do so we attempt to live our lives in relationship with all people (and God) so that we continually build trust and integrity. We do so in recognition that our integrity (and trust others have in us) can be lost in a single instance of poor judgment or bad action.”
LOYALTY is as follows: We strive to be steadfast in honoring God, our personal faith, and that which we believe to be just.
FAITH: We strive to Submit to the power of God, and act on that gift despite a lack of supporting evidence.
JUSTICE: We strive to see and relate to all of God's creation as God does and then we act in that way, understanding the consequences of our actions.
RESPECT: We strive to show consideration and regard for all people, notwithstanding our differences.
HARMONY: We strive to conduct our thoughts, words and deeds in a manner in which will encourage a positive blending of relationships among ourselves, God, others, and nature.
SACRIFICE: We strive to give of ourselves in moral thought and deed for the just benefit of the community without any expectation of reward.
INTEGRITY: We strive to live with integrity… Consistently doing what is right and good and being our true self by adhering to the moral statements and principles we have articulated above.
