The Center for Disease Control (CDC) has once again this week encouraged the wearing of masks indoors for all geographic areas in the Medium Risk (or higher) category for contracting the Covid-19 virus. The Oregon Health Authority is following the CDC Guidance.
Clackamas County is in this Medium Risk category. Accordingly, the WLLC Covid Team and Staff is 'strongly encouraging' indoor masking until case counts once again drop and Clackamas County is again considered in a low risk status.
We all truly appreciate your cooperation as we continue to pray for an end to this illness, and the health and safety for our entire community.
We must remember that COVID-19 is still present in Oregon. We encourage everyone who is eligible to get the recommended COVID-19 vaccines and boosters. As a public health reminder, we want people to know that state officials highly recommend that people in the following high-risk groups continue to wear masks in indoor public settings after the mask mandate has been lifted:
We know many people who attend WLLC identify with the high-risk categories and we continue to respect the choices people make about this mask question. Please also check your assumptions with others with respect to physical spacing: remember handshakes and hugs may make people uncomfortable even as public health improves. We do continue to urge people to get the vaccination and the booster. Clean and sanitized hands remain the best practice. |
